Gordon smith (The medium)
I am reading Gordon Smith's book Intuitive Studies-A Complete Course in Mediumship. It is very slow to start but around page 144 I found the following words very inciteful. These are the words of his student just before he was asked to do platform work for the first time.
"I always somehow knew I could do this but I was afraid that my nerves would get in the better of me and that I wouldn't be able to get it right because of that it took me a while to see that everything I was concerned about what's to do with me and nothing to do with the people who would come to try and get a link with the love one on the other side as soon as I thought this I remembered what my development taught me that I was the channel in this type of situation just the microphone for a spirit to contact their grieving relatives
It all came back to one thing, and that was trust. Gordon told me just before I went on that I really should trust my God by now and that they would never let me down if I sincerely wanted to serve them. Again this told me how little of me personally would be in the demonstration that I just had to put my body in front of the audience and let spirit do the rest.
I knew in my heart that I wasn't there to get it right for myself, what are you told that I was a good movie, but the help and heal, to connect with feelings and compassion, the past relevant information from the spirit to the recipient.
The great reward for trusting in spirit is the amazing buzz you feel when you know that a part of you has been used to help others."
