Name activity

Each person in the circle picks the name of someone who has passed over. Example: Robert. They write the name vertically on a card. They give their card to someone else in the circle. That person intuitively writes characteristics of the deceased using adjectives that start with each letter of the person's name.
R - Risk Taker, Rambunctious
o - Outstanding speaker, outgoing
B - Bookworm
E- Energetic
R- Rebel
T- Tall

Afterward they get feedback on how correct they were and if possible give a message from that person.

Psychometry Activity

Get each person to pick a stone and have them carry it on their body for a week. (Or less time permitting) Then have each person put their stone in a container and then one by one have the members of your circle pick out a rock and try to give an intuitive reading based on the energy of the rock. If possible identify whose rock it was.

Colour Rings Activity

To do this activity you need a metal ring with many different coloured ribbons attached to it. One person is chosen to do an intuitive reading and they leave the room. The person who will receive the reading is chosen and they choose three of the colour rings that they like best. Then they sit back down. The reader is brought back in from the other room and based on the colour of ribbons chosen then do and intuitive reading and if possible identify who picked the ribbons.

Anne Siddeway's Workshop Activity

This activity is fully explained in my blog: "Lauren and I show off at a medium workshop". Basically your circle forms a semi-circle facing a single chair in the center of the circle. One person sits with their back to group and is blindfolded. Another person from the group is chosen to stand a few feet behind them silently. The person who is blindfolded must use their intuitive skills to identify who is standing behind them. They can start by saying whether the gender is male or female, then tall or short, how old they might be until they can identify them by name.

Pam Malt's and Nicole Powell's Photo Activity

This activity was created by Nicole Powell and Pam Malt. I think it is the best activity to teach beginners confidence in making a reading. Each person in the circle was asked to bring a two photos (I think it would be ideal if one photo was of someone alive and the other was of someone who has passed on). The photos are placed on the table and shuffled. People pair up and practice do readings based on the photo they chose. The idea is to only look at the photo for less than 5 seconds and then put it down. Then the person describes actual things things they noticed about the person, ie. male or female, tall or short, color of hair etc. Then they can give some insights into the person by say what they think that person may be like. This activity is to simulate what it is like when you get a glimpse of someone in spirit. The idea is to give a quick reading. Beginners confidence can really grow because this activity takes away the fear of being wrong. It can also be done in a large group where they can get feedback from the person who brought the card as to how accurate the reading was.

Patricia Gunn's tarot card activity

In Patricia Gunn's mediumship circle we often do this activity: Using a tarot deck each person picks a card. They look at the card and then place it on the table face down. The cards on the table are shuffled and then each person picks a card. They tried to say whose card it is and then when the card's owner is identified they do an intuitive reading of the person based on the card. Then they turn to mediumship and try to get a reading for that person.
